Actor & Former Cricketer Yograj Singh Opens Up: A Heartfelt Apology That Shocked Everyone | Hazelite Media Exclusive
In a deeply emotional turn of events, actor and former cricketer Yograj Singh — known for his fiery personality and unwavering confidence — revealed a new, vulnerable side of himself. The man who once said he had no regrets in life and only cried at his mother’s death, broke down in tears in a recent podcast interview, apologizing to everyone he has wronged.
Appearing on the Fivewood Podcast, Yograj Singh admitted that he has made many mistakes in his life and sought forgiveness from his son Yuvraj Singh and his first wife, both of whom left when Yuvraj was 17 and had not yet made his India debut.
In earlier interviews, Yograj had proudly spoken of how he imposed strict discipline and harsh training on his wife and son to shape Yuvraj into a cricketing legend. However, a near-death experience a few months ago changed everything.
A Life-Changing Experience
Yograj recalled how one day, he felt an intense pain in his stomach and rushed to the hospital. After several tests, doctors told him he needed an urgent operation — with very slim chances of survival. Miraculously, he survived. The experience, he said, transformed him from within.
For years, he had declared that he would raise Yuvraj the same way again, no matter how harsh it seemed. But this time, through tears, Yograj admitted that he had behaved poorly and hurt people deeply.
“Too many regrets,” he said. “Everything I did was for my self-respect and my family, but I now see that I was wrong. I beg forgiveness from everyone — my children, my wife, Yuvi’s mother, and anyone I have ever hurt. I have no great qualities — only flaws. I have not done a single decent thing in life.”
He added that he now seeks only moksha — spiritual liberation — and that he wishes to leave this world at peace with everyone.
“When I die, I want my Guru to be proud of me,” Yograj said, adding that he now calls both his ex-wife and his current wife “Mata,” and sees “Gurus” in his sons.
Family Distance and Spiritual Transformation
In a separate appearance on the Highbrow Studios YouTube Channel, Yograj revealed that he is estranged from his entire family and that he has turned toward spirituality.
“I have no sons and daughters. I don’t miss them, but I’m grateful I could give them a good upbringing,” he said.
Later, in another interview with SMTV, Yograj admitted that one of the biggest reasons for this family rift is his reputation for tough love. According to him, Yuvraj and his family fear that he would put his grandson Orion through the same rigorous discipline he once forced upon Yuvraj.
“The day Yuvi hands his children over to me, they’ll meet the same fate. Gold is forged through fire — there will be no mercy,” Yograj declared.
On Ranveer Allahbadia’s podcast, Yuvraj himself admitted that he fears his father’s methods and does not want his son Orion to experience the same pressure.
